SHOP.COM, in partnership with the University of North Carolina at Greensboro (UNCG) Bryan School of Business & Economics and the North Carolina Entrepreneurship Center, presents a student developer contest. The contest is open to students enrolled in Universities in the Triad North Carolina area.
The Corporate Sponsor
SHOP.COM provides millions of products, powerful shopping tools, and the unique opportunity to leverage our shopping annuity program.
But, SHOP.COM wants to go further and provide the best consumer apps to manage shopping for household items.
The contest
This contest gives students the chance to show their idea of the future of consumer shopping. Whether the shopping experience is on a mobile app, a web site, or an IoT device, students can demonstrate their creative ideas for household shopping.
Students of all technical skill levels will form project teams of 3-5 members (project manager, business analyst and technical developer, etc). Each team will work with a SHOP.COM corporate mentor and be required to present their idea with a 3-5 minute "pitch" video.
The Judging
Finalist teams will present in person to judges from our local business community on November 15, 2017. The first-place team will receive $3,000; additional prize money will be awarded.
First Round Judges will be corporate leaders from SHOP.COM. Second round Judges will be select individuals from the Triad community.
